Becoming a Certified Digital Designer through JessicaSparague.com was a HUGE accomplishment for all those students who made it through the course. To celebrate, over 40 newly certified digital designers are showcasing their talents with an ENORMOUS blog hop! Designers were given a color palette to work with and asked to create digital papers and elements to be part of a "Christmas Treasures" collaboration kit. You will be so impressed by all the digital goodies you will be collecting as you visit everyone's blogs! The hop will run from November 11th-14th and begins at sweetsunshinephotography.blogspot.com. Jump On Board The "Scrap, Scrap, Scrap" Blog Train!
Welcome to the Scrap Scrap Scrap Blog Train! All the participating designers have recently been certified as JessicaSprague.com Certified Digital Designers. We are celebrating our new status by giving away mini-kits on a subject we all love - scrapbooking! Here's what you need to know:

Today is my last day as the Sign Shop Coordinator/Designer for our Wegmans grocery store in Fredericksburg. While I have only been with the company for 18 months, my co-workers feel like family to me and I will truly miss seeing them every day! They were a great group of people to work with and I don't want to loose touch with them. I wanted to make something for my "family" that included my contact information along with a sweet treat. The photos below show what I made over the weekend. The pics are a little blurry. I took them with my iPhone while in my office, but you'll get the idea! BTW, I used the "patch tool" in Photoshop to blur out some of my contact information on the third photo for this post, just for security purposes!
I decorated 50–4 oz. tins with papers from My Mind's Eye "Blackbird" collection. I then made the word art tag on the top of the tin using the following fonts: Avenir, Blackmoor, Sketchbook and Copperplate. The tins are filled with candy corn. On the inside of the lid, I used my Cricut/Gypsy machine to create the accordion fold circles. The bird on the front is from Deena Rutter's Superstition line of digital products. This particular line coordinates with her MME Blackbird line! I love that!
On another note, the "Scrap, Scrap, Scrap" blog train starts tomorrow. Actually, it starts this evening depending on what part of the world you are in! I will be posting my free mini kit for you to download this evening so check back and see what digital goodie I have for you!

Busy times!
Whew! I know I have been MIA over the past few weeks, so let me fill you in as to what is going on! This may take a while, so grab a beverage and keep reading...
I'll be honest and say that I've had a bit of creative block lately! Whenever that happens, I have to step away from the computer for a while and look for different avenues of inspiration to break through that block. For me, that usually means flipping through decorating magazines, art books, clothing catalogs, browsing through the gift shops in downtown Fredericksburg and yes, even checking out other digital designer's work. Speaking of other designers, I am so excited to be part of a blog hop this month! I met some wonderful people while taking Jessica Sprague's Art of Digital Design class. One of my fellow classmates, Kelly Hedgespeth from Simply Kelly Designs has organized a blog hop with 10 other designers from the class. Each designer will have a free kit on their blog with the theme of "Scrap Scrap Scrap!" I'm sure many of you who scrapbook with friends have tons of photos of your crops. These designers have put together some creative mini kits for you to scrapbook those good cropping times with friends. Be sure to visit each blog and grab those freebies! Each designer will also be giving away a full kit with the theme of their choice and one lucky winner will win all 10 kits! Check out the ad below that Kelly created for more information! The mini kit that I created for the hop was just the first step in helping me with my creative block. Just a few days ago I did a few layouts with my Haunting on 5th Ave. and Lacrosse is Cool kits (step two in breaking through the block):
I have also contributed to a collaboration kit with Funky Playground Designs. "Collab Kits," as they are known as, are kits in which several designers contribute a few pieces to and then all of the pieces are put together, creating one kit. "Toil and Trouble" is the collab kit for October at FPD. It will be released on October 7 (BTW–new products will be in my shop soon). I will post a preview shortly! But for now, here is a little sneak peak of my contribution (step 3–and hopefully final step–in breaking the block):
On another note, I got a new job! I will be leaving Wegmans on October 13th for a full time design position with a company I have done freelance work for in the past several years. Although I am very sad to leave my Wegmans family, I am very excited about the new path that lies ahead!
