I love ringing in a brand new year. It's a time for renewal, a time for reflection and it's a time always full of hope that the new year will be better than the last. 2013 brings a new sense of energy and optimism to me that I haven't felt in a long time. I am entering 2013 with a plan, a scheme, a blueprint (no pun intended) on how to reach several goals I have set for myself personally and professionally. I hope you will continue to follow me throughout 2013 as much of what I have planned will be unfolded right here on September Blue. Here is a brief description of just some of the projects I will be taking on this year:
Studies have shown over and over again that a key to successful weight loss is to write down everything you eat throughout your day. One should journal their moods and how it relates to their food choices, whether or not they exercised on any given day, etc. Graphic designer and scrapbooker Cathy Zielske has taken her journey to a healthy lifestyle one step further by creating a scrapbooking class to document the process. Move More, Eat Well 2.0 is a year long class where participants will receive monthly prompts and templates from Cathy to help document and photograph their way to a healthy lifestyle. The class is being offered through Big Picture Classes and is $36 for the year. You can find more information by clicking this link. {Please note that Cathy is not a personal trainer or licensed nutritionist. She is merely providing a place for those who have the same healthy lifestyle goals to come together and share/document/photograph their journey}. I will be taking part in this class and will be sharing the whole process here on September Blue. Be sure to check back tomorrow as I will have a separate post on this particular project!
One Little Word is a class developed by Ali Edwards that revolves around a single word of your choosing that sums up what you want for 2013. It's another year long class being offered at Big Picture Classes and I will be taking part in this project as well. I already have my word picked out and will share it with you in a post later this week {however, I did give a hint already}. The class is $36 for the year and you can learn more about it here.
2013 will be my second attempt at Project Life. I truly believe in this method of preserving and documenting our family photos and memories. Last year I got through week 18 or 19 and unfortunately didn't continue. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I'm not going to let that hold me back this year. No sirree! I have a plan this year and I can't wait to get started! To learn more about Becky Higgins' Project Life, click here. Later this week I will publish a separate post on how I am organizing myself to may this year's Project Life a success. After that, I will be posting my Project Life pages every Tuesday.
Finally I thought I would share a little something I made the other day to help me organize my ideas and thoughts for posts here on September Blue. A friend of mine on Facebook posted a link recently to a free blog planner. A blog planner. It was something I never thought of before, but made me realize how much I needed one if I want to be successful. Although I could have designed one myself, I really didn't have the time to do so, so I search for the perfect planner online that I can download and print. I actually found two different ones that I liked a lot. This one from creativegirlmedia.com:
And this one from theflourishingabode.com:
I liked the checklist box on the first planner and wanted to incorporate it into the second one. So I worked a little Photoshop magic, made a few changes to the one from The Flourishing Abode and created a cover for it as well. The chevron papers are ones I made myself. I printed 52 pages and used my Zutter to bind the book together.
I've already put this planner to good use! I think it is going to be pretty handy in 2013!
Thanks for reading! I wish each and everyone of you a happy and healthy 2013!
